Job summary

Zobility is seeking a Principal Engineer - Software to develop and maintain tooling for embedded vehicle software. You will migrate on-prem apps from Windows to Docker containers on RedHat Linux, automate VM creation, and enhance middleware for on-prem integration.

You will also design and implement Python-based GUI applications to manage tools, lead feasibility studies, and mentor junior engineers. This role requires strong Python, Docker, and Linux skills in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• Python programming experience.
• Linux power user; Linux administration experience is a plus.
• Docker experience, ideally including Swarm.

Responsibilities

• Complete projects or project parts of moderate complexity on time.
• May manage overall project schedule and budget.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams; mentor junior engineers.
• Develop and maintain toolsets for embedded vehicle software development.
• Design and implement Python-based web and desktop GUI applications for toolset management.
• Follow software engineering best practices including version control and CI/CD.
