Job summary

Zipline is seeking an experienced engineer to implement reliable embedded software for robotics applications at scale. You will work at the hardware/software boundary on flight- and safety-critical code running on embedded Linux, including diagnostics and validation infrastructure that ensures performance and reliability in the field.

You will own multiple avionics subsystems, ship drivers and real-time interfaces, and collaborate with hardware, systems, and operations to enable safe, reliable

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EE/CS or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in embedded/flight-critical systems or equivalent impact.
• Experience shipping embedded production code in C++ or Rust.

Responsibilities

• Own avionics subsystems (GNSS, Cellular, IMU) end-to-end.
• Deliver and maintain flight- and safety-critical code on embedded Linux.
• Define and ship measurable reliability and observability outcomes.
• Lead hardware-in-the-loop, bench, and field validation tests.
• Build tooling for deterministic test, logging, and regression tests.
• Triage and resolve high-severity field incidents and drive RCAs.
