Job summary

Rappahannock Community College (RCC) invites applications for an Embedded Tutor. This part-time role supports students with in-person and virtual tutoring, embedded within designated course sessions, under the Coordinator of Learning Resources.

Expect tutoring both during and outside class time and regular instructor collaboration. Minimum requirements include a course grade of A or B, demonstrated competence in the tutoring subject, and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• Completion with an A or B grade for the course(s) in which the Embedded Tutor is assigned.
• Demonstrated competence in the course to be tutored.
• Strong communication and writing skills.
• Embedded tutors must be able to attend assigned course or lab sessions and provide tutoring support outside class hours as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person and virtual tutoring for designated course sections to support student success.
• Schedule and conduct tutoring sessions outside class time in addition to in-class tutoring.
• Communicate regularly with course instructors and document tutoring activity.
• Follow the guidelines of the Embedded Tutoring program and maintain student privacy at all times.
