Job summary

Rappahannock Community College (RCC) is seeking an Embedded Tutor to provide in-person and virtual tutoring for designated courses, working roughly 15 hours per week at a pay rate of $15 per hour. The tutor works under the Coordinator of Learning Resources, reviewing concepts inside the classroom and supporting student success through varied teaching approaches.

Qualifications

• Completion with an A or B grade for the course(s) in which the Embedded Tutor is assigned.
• Demonstrated competence in the course to be tutored.
• Strong communication and writing skills.
• Embedded tutors must be able to attend assigned course or lab sessions and provide tutoring support outside class hours as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person and virtual tutoring to designated course sections to support student success.
• Tutor within the classroom and review concepts with students using varied methods.
• Schedule and conduct in-person and virtual tutoring sessions outside class time.
