Aims Community College seeks an embedded tutor to support learners in RTV courses, boosting their confidence and independence. You will guide students, document tutoring sessions, and participate in tutor trainings while coordinating with faculty.

Flexibility is required as you help with class activities and promote campus resources. The role emphasizes learner-centered tutoring and strong communication with the Program Coordinator.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree or equivalent required.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse student body.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative.
• Interest in ongoing professional development and lifelong learning.
• Coursework in the subject matter or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend classes and assist students during class activities as needed.
• Provide individual or group tutoring upon request by students.
• Be observed by the department chair once per semester.
• Complete written and electronic timesheets for Perkins Grant reporting.
• Develop learner-centered tutoring strategies to boost confidence and success.
• Maintain accurate documentation of tutoring sessions.
• Participate in tutor trainings and reflections on tutoring practices.
• Collaborate with the Program Coordinator and faculty to support students.
• Create a clean, learner-centered tutoring environment and promote campus resources.
• Perform other duties as assigned and adhere to college policies.
