Veeco is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our Software Engineering team in Santa Clara, CA. You will collaborate across disciplines to integrate new features for advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment and support system-level software that interacts directly with hardware.

The role emphasizes C++ development, real‑time controls, debugging, and cross‑functional teamwork within an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical field with 5+ years experience, or a Master's with 3+ years.
• Experience interfacing software with hardware components (sensors, motion control, instrumentation).
• C++ software development for advanced semiconductor manufacturing and capital equipment systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with software, electrical, mechanical, systems, and controls engineers to develop and integrate new features and system capabilities.
• Analyze software and system requirements to determine feasibility, performance, and design within project constraints.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software, hardware, and system integration issues in development and customer environments.
• Provide design and architectural solutions for new features and system enhancements.
• Support field issue investigations and work with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and solutions.
• Optimize system performance, reliability, and maintainability in complex equipment environments.
• Exercise independent judgment in developing methods and evaluation criteria to meet objectives.
• Work within an Agile/SCRUM environment using modern software tools.
