Job summary

The Boeing Company in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking an Associate or Mid-Level Hardware & Software Integration Engineer to join Starfire Optical Range operations. You will contribute to hardware, firmware, and software development for electro-optical systems, with emphasis on integration and DSP.

On-site at Kirtland AFB, you will work within a multidisciplinary team on pointing and tracking control systems, GUI development, and testing across hardware and software domains.

Qualifications

• Requires active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).
• Ability to obtain U.S. Top Secret Clearance or equivalent (Post Start).
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of hardware and software integration experience.
• 1+ years FPGA embedded systems experience.
• 1+ years developing software/firmware in LabVIEW, Python, or C/C++.
• 1+ years of performance analysis with MATLAB or Mathematica.
• Willingness to work variable shifts.

Responsibilities

• Support hardware and software research development projects.
• Develop specifications for firmware and software architectures.
• Research required algorithms and implementation approaches.
• Design and validate hardware components.
• Develop and maintain software code.
• Integrate software into a fully functional system.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
• Assist with test procedures and documenting results.
• Interface custom and off-the-shelf hardware with various computer platforms.
• Design and implement precision motion control systems for pointing/tracking.
• Develop GUIs for networked control and telemetry.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex electromechanical systems and software issues.
