Job summary

The Boeing Company is recruiting for embedded software engineers at Starfire Optical Range in Albuquerque, NM, supporting firmware and software for electro‑optical systems. This role emphasizes cross‑disciplinary collaboration across hardware, firmware, and software teams in a research environment.

Positions require active or equivalent security clearances (Secret/Top Secret), a relevant BS degree, and 2+ years in SoC, C++, and RTOS.

Qualifications

• This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
• This position requires ability to obtain U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance or equivalent (Post Start)
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
• 2+ years of experience with System on Chip (SoC) hardware/software
• 2+ years of experience in C++ software development in a Windows operation system environment
• 2+ years of experience working with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
• Must be willing to work variable shifts; including days, evenings, nights, and weekends

Responsibilities

• Support firmware and software research development projects
• Work in a team environment to develop specifications of firmware and software architectures
• Research required algorithms and implementation approach
• Design and validate implementation of all firmware components
• Integrate and synthesize firmware for the target platform
• Develop and maintain software code
• Integrate software into a fully functional software system
• Troubleshoot basic firmware and software issues
• Assist with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure embedded system requirements are met
