Job summary

CoStar Group, Inc. is seeking an Embedded Software Engineering Intern in Sunnyvale, CA.

You will join the Hardware Systems Engineering team, working at the intersection of hardware, manufacturing, and software to turn sensor data into actionable insights. You will gain hands-on experience with enterprise-scale projects, pairing with a dedicated mentor, and contributing to real engineering decisions from idea through test bench to hardware.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in CS/SE/EE/Data Science or related field.
• Must plan to return to school after Summer 2027 internship.
• GPA 3.0 or higher.
• Available for full 10-week, 40-hour weekly internship.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, or MATLAB.

Responsibilities

• Work with real sensor data to build models, tools, or analysis pipelines.
• Help analyze opticalCalibration/reliability test data.
• Prototype anomaly detection and data quality checks.
• Collaborate with hardware, test, and software engineers to understand problems.
• Document approach and present findings to the team.
