Job summary

General Motors seeks embedded and systems engineering interns to explore how software, hardware, controls, and vehicle systems interact. You may contribute to low-level software, real-time systems, hardware/software integration, simulation, diagnostics, or test environments that accelerate vehicle software development.

Assignments include developing, integrating, simulating, testing, troubleshooting, and documenting components used in engineering and validation.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer, mechanical, or systems engineering or related field.
• At least one additional quarter/semester remaining after internship.
• Available to work full-time for 12 weeks in summer 2027.
• Coursework or experience in programming, electronics, controls, systems, or testing.
• Strong problem solving and cross-domain collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software, scripts, models, or test automation.
• Assist hardware/software integration and diagnostics.
• Use simulations to analyze results and improve real-time systems.
• Collaborate with software, electrical, mechanical, systems, and validation teams.
