General Motors is seeking embedded and systems engineering interns in Mountain View, CA to explore software-hardware integration and real-time testing within GM’s Digital Products. You will contribute to low-level software, HIL testing, and validation across multiple vehicle platforms.

The internship offers hands-on work at the intersection of software, hardware, and vehicle systems, with team placements ensuring proximity to your working group and mentor guidance throughout the 12-week period.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or related field.
• At least one additional semester remaining after internship.
• Full-time availability for 12 weeks in 2027 (May–Aug or Jun–Sept).
• Coursework or project experience in programming, electronics, or controls.
• Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to work onsite in GM location in lab/test environment.

Responsabilités

• Develop or improve embedded software, scripts, models, tools, or test automation.
• Support hardware/software integration and test environments.
• Build or use simulation models and analyze real-time test results.
• Troubleshoot issues using logs, measurements, or schematics.
• Assist with hardware-in-the-loop or diagnostic testing.
• Collaborate with software, electrical, mechanical, systems, validation, and lab teams.
