Job summary

General Motors is seeking Software Engineer Interns and Software Test Engineer Interns to contribute to mobile apps, back-office platforms, and connected services. You will work with cross-functional teams to design, code, test, and improve digital products that power GM experiences.

This hybrid program includes real product work and professional growth opportunities. The internship runs for 12 weeks in summer 2027, with onsite collaboration and team-based placements.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree with remaining term for internship.
• Coursework or projects demonstrating programming or software development.
• Ability to work full-time during the 12-week summer internship (May-August 2027).

Responsibilities

• Build or enhance software features, services, APIs, tools, or automation.
• Write unit, integration, or end-to-end tests and help improve software quality.
• Analyze data, investigate defects, and support troubleshooting or root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, analysts, technicians, and business partners.
