Job summary

Rockwell Automation is seeking a software engineer to design, implement, and test embedded software communicating via APIs and services within an Agile team. You will handle the full software development lifecycle, from requirements to release, and contribute to code reviews and testing.

The role emphasizes hands-on coding in C++, Python and RTOS, collaboration, and mentoring of junior engineers. Familiarity with CIP, ARM/x86, Git and Jenkins is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• Legal authorization to work in the US is required; visa sponsorship not provided.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test software that communicates to other parts of the product or system via APIs, services or protocols.
• Operate across the entire software development life cycle as part of an Agile development team: requirements management, design, implementation, test, release, and maintenance.
• Directly apply technical skills to assigned tasks, having some complex features; use proven software design techniques and criteria to complete tasks.
• Participate in peer reviews of documents, designs, code, test cases and user documentation.
• Perform unit or functional testing of developed software to ensure correct operation per requirements.
• Keep abreast of current trends in software development practices and tools.
• Collaborate effectively and respect diverse viewpoints; coach less experienced engineers.
