Job summary

Rockwell Automation is seeking an embedded software engineer to develop safety- and security-critical PLC software across diverse hardware platforms and RTOS environments. You will lead design for controller features, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and build reusable software libraries.

The role requires 3+ years in embedded software, strong C++ and object-oriented design skills, and familiarity with IEC 61508/62443 safety standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
3+ years of software engineering experience in embedded/real-time environments.
Proficiency in C++ and object-oriented design.
Experience with safety/security standards (IEC 61508/IEC 62443).
Experience with automated testing and Python scripting.
Familiarity with industrial protocols, especially CIP.
Knowledge of Intel/ARM architectures and embedded hypervisors.
Experience in developing device drivers or low-level software.

Responsibilities

Develop safety- and security-critical embedded software for PLCs.
Work across diverse hardware/software environments including SoCs and RTOS.
Promote continuous improvement of engineering tools and practices.
Participate in an Agile team within SAFe and monitor team health and velocity.
Lead design of controller features, coordinating with multiple teams.
Build software libraries/frameworks for reuse across products.
Collaborate with test teams to design testable requirements and automated tests.
Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge across the team.
