Job summary

Rockwell Automation in Mayfield Heights, OH seeks a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and test embedded software for programmable logic controllers, reporting to the Embedded Software Team Lead. Hybrid work arrangement in Ohio.

In this role you will work across hardware and software environments, use C++ and Python, and participate in Agile development with CI/CD practices. A Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience are preferred, with sponsorship not available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering in embedded systems.
• Experience with embedded RTOS or Linux.
• Experience with automated tests and Python.
• Familiarity with automation frameworks and CI/CD tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop safety- and security-critical embedded software for new Programmable Logic Controllers.
• Work across hardware and software environments, from commercial off-the-shelf to custom System on Chip architectures.
• Build and maintain automated tests in support of new and existing product features.
• Use modern CI/CD tools and promote continuous improvement of tools and practices.
• Mentor less experienced personnel and encourage knowledge sharing.
