Job summary

Rockwell Automation is seeking a Software Engineer to develop industry-leading commercial software, participate in subsystem design, and support the full development lifecycle. You will collaborate with global teams, potentially lead a small feature, and promote reliable engineering practices.

The role emphasizes knowledge sharing, open communication, and staying current with software engineering trends. A strong grounding in C++, C#, data structures, and patterns is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
• Experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Knowledge of object-oriented designs.
• Experience with design patterns.
• Direct experience with C++, C#, or other relevant programming languages.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with a relational database such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.

Responsibilities

• Document, contribute, and collect requirements for a feature and its components.
• Develop new subsystem designs or help existing ones ensuring they meet the established requirements.
• Establish a timeline and determine the resources needed to implement a design.
• Implement and documents code that meets the requirements of the software design.
• Develop unit test plans. Report and resolves anomalies. Lead integration of other components to produce a final product.
• Participate in reviews of documents, designs, code, test cases and user documentation.
• Estimates, plans, develops test suites, test cases and automated tests for proper test coverage.
• Determine origin and cause of anomalies identified.
