Job summary

Verkada is seeking an Embedded Engineering Manager for Storage Systems in San Mateo. Lead a technical team powering the on-camera storage stack, targeting reliability and performance across millions of cameras.

You will partner with Hardware, Firmware, Streaming, Cloud Infra, and Product teams to shape the storage roadmap and ensure secure, scalable storage with edge-first design. Onsite presence is required.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership.
• Strong C/C++ systems programming and embedded OS knowledge.
• Deep understanding of file systems, storage tech, and Linux internals.
• Experience with on-camera storage, edge storage, and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a high-performing storage systems engineering team.
• Define and execute roadmaps for next-gen on-camera storage tech.
• Collaborate with Hardware, Firmware, Streaming, Cloud Infra, and Product teams.
• Drive reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of storage systems.
