Verkada is redefining physical security with an AI-powered platform. We seek an Engineering Manager for Camera Firmware Platform to lead a skilled team across storage, firmware and embedded systems, shaping the on-device storage stack and cross-cutting firmware services.

This role is onsite at Verkada HQ in San Mateo, CA, partnering with Hardware, CV, Cloud, and Security teams. You will direct architecture, drive a multi-quarter roadmap, and ensure reliability across a fleet of millions of

Qualifikationen

• 8+ years of professional software engineering in embedded systems, OS internals, or systems software.
• 2+ years of direct management or technical leadership experience guiding embedded systems, firmware, or infrastructure teams.
• High proficiency in C/C++ systems programming; Go or Python is preferred.
• Hands-on design of storage systems for continuous, high-throughput write workloads (video).
• Experience profiling memory, power, CPU, and IPC on resource-constrained devices.
• Proven ability debugging OS, driver, or filesystem issues across large production fleets.

Aufgaben

• Lead, grow, and mentor a high-performing team of systems and firmware engineers; recruit embedded talent and drive execution.
• Define multi-quarter technical roadmap for camera storage and firmware platforms.
• Own end-to-end on-device storage stack including filesystems, video layout, and encryption.
• Optimize boot/shutdown paths and manage DRAM/flash footprints; enable OTA updates.
• Coordinate device state transitions and build fleet-wide crash telemetry and disaster testing.
• Track and optimize fleet-wide reliability metrics across millions of devices.
