Job summary

Wabtec is seeking an early-career Software Test Engineer II to perform manual and automated testing of embedded software and assist with hardware/software integration. The role requires a bachelor's degree in a technical field and at least two years of test experience, with hands-on Python, Windows, and test automation skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in software testing, embedded systems, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• Understanding of electronic control systems and hardware/software integration.
• Hands-on testing and debugging of software and/or hardware-based systems.
• Practical experience using Python for testing, debugging, or automation.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Review requirements for testability and develop test plans and procedures.
• Create and maintain test cases with traceability to requirements.
• Perform manual and automated testing of embedded software.
• Document results and generate comprehensive test reports.
• Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to communicate findings.
• Assist with lab equipment setup and maintenance, and contribute to test automation efforts.
