Job summary

Two Six Technologies seeks an Embedded Software Test Engineer to join the Trusted Electronics and Effects team in Linthicum, MD. You will drive automated bench environments, write test scripts, and validate software/hardware behavior using Python, C/C++, and CI/CD tools.

You'll work with test harnesses, Docker-based environments, and hardware debugging protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, JTAG) to accelerate security verification and vulnerability research missions on embedded systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
• Demonstrated experience designing or using automated test harnesses, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) setups, or test bench environments.
• Strong programming proficiency in Python, C, or C++, or Rust for bench automation, test scripting, and peripheral bus communications.
• Proven capability in establishing continuous integration pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and containerized execution infrastructure (Docker).
• Hands-on experience with hardware debugging protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, JTAG) and embedded bus monitoring.
• Ability to provide on-site support in Linthicum, Maryland daily.

Responsibilities

• Leverage test harnesses to accelerate software and firmware security verification in support of reverse engineering and vulnerability research missions.
• Automate target device execution, bench instrument control, and continuous software test suites to enable rapid and reproducible test setups.
• Operate under minimal supervision guided by operational practices to validate software behavior, system execution states, and patch deployment.
