Job summary

Two Six Technologies in Linthicum, MD is seeking an Embedded Software Test Engineer to join the Trusted Electronics and Effects team. You will work on hardware-in-the-loop bench automation, test harness orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines to verify embedded software and firmware, driving rapid, reproducible test setups.

Qualifications include a BS in a technical field, hands-on testing in HIL environments, and strong Python/C/C++/Rust skills with Docker and CI tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
• Demonstrated experience designing or using automated test harnesses, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) setups, or test bench environments.
• Strong programming proficiency in Python, C, or C++, or Rust for bench automation, test scripting, and peripheral bus communications.
• Proven capability in establishing continuous integration pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and containerized execution infrastructure (Docker).
• Hands‑on experience with hardware debugging protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, JTAG) and embedded bus monitoring.
• Ability to provide on-site support in Linthicum, Maryland daily

Responsibilities

• Leverage test harnesses to accelerate software and firmware security verification in support of reverse engineering and vulnerability research missions.
• Automate target device execution, bench instrument control, and continuous software test suites to enable rapid and reproducible test setups.
• Operate under minimal supervision guided by operational practices to validate software behavior, system execution states, and patch deployment.
