Job summary

TSC is seeking a Software System Test Engineer to join our Product Solutions team in Arlington, VA (also in Aurora, CO; Huntsville, AL; Bedminster, NJ). You will develop and execute test strategies for embedded software, collaborate across software/hardware teams, and drive quality from development through release.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years in software/system testing, strong Python/Bash scripting, Linux experience, and the ability to obtain DoD clearance.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
• 5-7 years of professional software/system testing experience, embedded systems preferred.
• Strong in developing and executing system test cases for embedded software.
• Experience with Linux-based embedded systems and network testing.
• Solid understanding of IP networking fundamentals and protocol testing.
• Proficient in Python and Bash scripting for test automation.
• Proficient in Git and CI workflows.
• U.S. Citizenship is required and ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated and manual test frameworks for embedded software.
• Collaborate with software and hardware teams to define test requirements and strategies.
• Perform integration, regression, and performance testing across platforms.
• Analyze results, identify root causes, and drive resolution with developers.
• Mentor junior test engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Document test plans, procedures, and results for internal and customer deliverables.
• Support software release management by validating deliverables and quality.
• Utilize Python and Bash for test automation and data analysis.
