Job summary

AeroVironment, based in California, offers a paid Summer Internship Program in the United States. You will work as an Embedded Software Engineering Intern on real projects for unmanned aerial and robotic systems, gaining hands-on experience in development and testing.

The 12-week onsite program requires a minimum 3.0 GPA and is open to juniors and above. Relocation/housing stipends may be available depending on location.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Basic knowledge of embedded systems and microcontrollers.
• Familiarity with C, C++, or Python.
• Understanding of memory management, interrupts, or device drivers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in writing and testing embedded software for autopilots, sensors, radios, and onboard components.
• Help implement software in C/C++ for real-time and bare-metal systems.
• Support integration of embedded software with hardware and debugging with lab tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive development.
• Participate in peer reviews, documentation, and configuration management.
• Contribute to lab and field testing of embedded systems in real-world scenarios.
• Assist in prototypes and proof-of-concept demonstrations.
