Job summary

Blue Origin, based in the United States, is hiring for a Software Engineer for the TeraWave RF/Optical Systems. The role focuses on leadership in software for constrained environments, real-time OS, high-speed data handling, and encryption within the Emerging Systems unit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of embedded software development in C/C++ on Linux/RTOS/Bare-metal.
• Strong grasp of C++ object-oriented design/implementation concepts.
• Knowledge of embedded systems debugging using SW and HW tools (GDB, JTAG).
• Knowledge of standard peripheral interfaces – SPI, I2C, PCIe, CAN, etc.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• U.S. citizen/national, U.S. permanent resident or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop multi-threaded embedded software in C/C++.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software with hardware systems.
• Contribute to technical documentation, code reviews, and design discussions.
• Troubleshoot issues using telemetry, logs/traces, instrumentation, and debugging tools.
• Develop unit/integration tests and CI/CD pipeline integration.
• Learn quickly from mentors and peers, delivering with speed and quality.
