Actalent is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer in Melbourne, FL. You will design, implement, and test embedded software for mission-critical systems, collaborating with hardware and systems teams to ensure robust, real-time performance.

Responsibilities include developing for embedded Linux/RTOS, integrating with hardware, and supporting automated testing and device drivers. Onsite role with a 9/80 schedule and security-clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
• 3+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Strong C programming skills.
• Proficient in Python.
• Experience with embedded Linux/RTOS/bare-metal environments.
• Experience integrating software with hardware platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and debug embedded software using C and Python.
• Develop software for embedded Linux, RTOS, and bare-metal environments.
• Integrate software with custom hardware and microcontroller-based systems.
• Perform hardware/software integration, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Create and execute test plans, automated test scripts, and validation procedures.
• Develop device drivers and communication interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet).
• Participate in software architecture and code reviews; support CI/CD pipelines.
