Actalent, Inc. in Melbourne, FL, seeks an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain embedded software for defense applications. You will work with RTOS and Linux, develop device drivers, and interface with cameras or FPGAs to optimize performance.

The role demands 5+ years of embedded C/C++ experience, strong RTOS and Linux knowledge, and the ability to obtain a security clearance. This is a hybrid contract-to-hire position based in Melbourne, FL.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional Embedded Software Engineering experience.
• Extensive development in C or C++.
• Proven RTOS expertise.
• Strong Linux (Red Hat or FreeRTOS) knowledge with bare-metal embedded experience.
• Experience developing and integrating embedded device drivers (TCP/IP, UART, I2C, PCIe, USB).
• Experience interfacing with hardware such as cameras or FPGAs.
• Understanding of multi-threading and multi-processing concepts.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for defense applications.
• Work with RTOS and Linux for embedded systems.
• Develop and integrate embedded device drivers (TCP/IP, UART, I2C, PCIe, USB).
• Build drivers and interface with cameras or FPGAs.
• Implement multi-threading and multi-processing to optimize performance.
• Participate in testing, documentation, and support activities.
• Communicate progress and status to stakeholders.
• Review customer specifications and design for cost and manufacturability.
