Job summary

Argotec seeks a Senior Embedded Software Engineer in Melbourne, FL to design, implement, and optimize flight software for small satellite platforms and avionics systems. You will work under the CTO on development across requirements, testing, and deployment cycles, and contribute to code reuse across missions.

You will configure RTOS, integrate with hardware, mentor juniors, interface with space agencies, and lead cross-functional teams toward production readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.
• 5+ years of embedded software development experience.
• U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency required.
• Excellent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software for avionic systems.
• Work through the full software development lifecycle from requirements to testing.
• Configure and tailor real-time operating systems on on-board computers.
• Integrate and test flight software on avionics systems and satellites.
• Develop tools (scripts, simulators, digital twins) for high-quality flight software.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define architecture and hardware interfaces.
• Support production readiness and lifecycle of satellite software.
• Coach junior developers on software design patterns.
