Toyota Material Handling North America seeks an embedded software engineer to develop firmware and software for real-time embedded control systems. You will collaborate across engineering disciplines to deliver scalable, reusable code for embedded platforms.

The role emphasizes low-level firmware, RTOS usage, and performance optimization, with duties spanning design, testing, and field support at a Greene, NY site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for resource-constrained embedded platforms.
• Hands-on development with bare-metal or RTOS.
• Understanding of hardware comms: I2C, SPI, UART.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of core OS concepts including interrupts and threading.

Responsibilities

• Architect scalable software solutions for embedded products.
• Design modules for real-time embedded systems and contribute to system-level decisions.
• Develop low-level firmware for microcontrollers and peripherals.
• Optimize code for performance, reliability, and memory use.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers.
• Support software across the full lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Test and validate software on real hardware and setups.
• Troubleshoot issues and provide post-deployment support.
