Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer for the Energy Applications Team to support embedded software for electronics control systems in diesel engine, battery electric, and fuel cell applications.

Responsibilities include requirements analysis, configuration and build, test planning and execution, test bench setup, and both manual and automated testing, with emphasis on troubleshooting and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related study.
• Experience with embedded software development.
• Experience with testing and debugging embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Software requirements analysis.
• Software configuration and building.
• Test plan creation, execution, and documentation.
• Set up and configuration of test bench hardware and software.
• Completion of mandatory and feature-specific testing using manual and automated methods.
• Support of system and software troubleshooting in lab, proving grounds, and field.
