Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain firmware and software for advanced photonics and instrumentation products. You will program microcontrollers, develop GUIs with C# or Qt C++, and architect complex systems that integrate hardware and software across disciplines.

The role requires hands-on embedded development, RTOS experience, strong debugging skills, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain firmware and software for photonics and instrumentation products.
• Program microcontrollers with bare‑metal and low‑level embedded development.
• Develop GUIs using C# and/or Qt C++ on Windows or Linux.
• Plan and implement complex software/firmware architectures across subsystems.
• Track defects and provide production support as needed.
