Job summary

Lumentum Operations LLC is seeking an experienced Firmware Engineer to design, implement, test, and maintain embedded software for optical modules and transceivers. You will work across the firmware lifecycle, collaborating with hardware, manufacturing, and test teams to ensure robust performance.

Required is a strong background in C/C++ for embedded systems, RTOS experience (FreeRTOS or similar), and familiarity with ARM Cortex architectures and common interfaces.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of embedded firmware development experience in optical networking or telecom.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and debug firmware for optical modules and transceivers.
• Implement embedded software for microcontrollers and RTOS-based systems.
• Develop unit, integration, and system tests for firmware quality.
• Collaborate with hardware, manufacturing, and test teams to bring products to production.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and firmware design reviews.
• Analyze and resolve complex firmware issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Document firmware designs, specifications, and test plans.
