Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a mid-level Embedded Software Engineer to join our engineering team supporting Linux-based compute platforms, data processing frameworks, and hardware/software integration on VPX/SOSA architectures. The role emphasizes scalable, secure software services for x86_64 and ARM SBCs.

The candidate should have 5+ years in systems-level programming, Linux experience, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

Requires STEM degree and 5+ years engineering experience.
Proficient in system-level programming on Linux.
Experience with Agile/DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

Develop core compute-platform services such as data transport and processing orchestration.
Build scalable, high-throughput, low-latency processing pipelines.
Define platform interfaces and data contracts with hardware teams.
Integrate software across Linux compute nodes and heterogeneous hardware.
Manage Linux OS and container runtimes (Docker/Podman) for deployment.
Participate in Agile development with CI/CD and security-focused workflows.
Profile and optimize compute workloads and platform services.
Diagnose complex distributed system issues.
Contribute to platform architecture and tooling improvements.
