Job summary

RTX seeks software engineers to work onsite in the Dallas, TX area on DoD-related projects requiring U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance. You will gain exposure to systems engineering and see how software integrates with product development.

You will own tasks with mentorship and participate in reviews, testing, and documentation. Ideal candidates have a STEM degree and experience with C++ and Python, Linux, and agile practices.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• Familiarity in developing, testing, and integrating software applications written in C++ or closely related software languages.
• Familiarity with computer scripting languages such as Python.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure to systems engineering principles and understand how software fits into product development.
• Work in a hands-on engineering environment turning classroom knowledge into real solutions.
• Take ownership of project tasks or subprojects with mentorship from experienced engineers.
• Participate in key software lifecycle activities, including code reviews, documentation, testing, and validation.
• Follow established development practices to maintain software configuration management.
