Job summary

General Motors (GM) seeks experienced Battery & Propulsion HIL Engineers in Milford, MI for hybrid work arrangements. You will create hardware-in-the-loop environments to enable development, modeling, verification and calibration for battery and powertrain systems using dSpace tools.

Lead Agile/DFSS initiatives and collaborate across software, calibration, validation, and test teams. The role emphasizes developing models, harness design, power distribution, ECU integration, and sharing reusable

Qualifications

Master’s degree in engineering (Mechatronics, Electrical, Software or Computer preferred).
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechatronics, Electrical, Software or Computer).
4+ years of experience in design of models with real time simulation.
4+ years of experience in HIL design, troubleshooting and integration.
2+ years of experience in automotive engineering.
1+ years of experience in applying DFSS tools and methodologies to solve problems.

Responsibilities

Translate customer needs into testable system requirements and solutions with software development, calibration, validation, and test-environment users.
Create and maintain simulation models (plant, sensors/actuators, serial data communications, controller models) for HIL/SIL environments.
Design, integrate, and support HIL benches including harness design, power distribution, ECU integration, and use of ISO SPI, CAN tools, and INCA.
Plan, communicate, and coordinate test-environment strategy and model/hardware rollout for applications and features.
Collaborate with test-environment users to investigate, root cause, and resolve issues in test results.
Lead systems engineering activities including requirements specification, functional decomposition, and software anomaly resolution.
