Job summary

General Motors (GM) is seeking a Software Engineer for the Vehicle Mechatronic Embedded Controls (VMEC) team in Electrification Propulsion. You will design, implement, and test software for EV/HEV propulsion architectures across VIP/SDV 2.0, improving energy efficiency and drive unit control.

You will work in a hybrid setup (reporting to Milford, MI area several days a week) within an agile team, collaborating with systems, calibration, hardware, and QA engineers to deliver robust software

Qualifications

BS in Engineering – Electrical, Mechanical, Computer or CS.
2+ years of embedded controls experience.
Proficient in MATLAB, Simulink, C/C++.
Experience with Jira and agile software development.

Responsibilities

Produce or deliver software for embedded controls systems in the electrification propulsion domain.
Design, development and implementation of Physics and Controls requirements to continuously improve software for mechatronic controls and diagnostic strategies as well as controller communication.
Test & demonstrate software functionality & readiness.
Supply common solutions across all GM owned software.
Document requirements for design solutions and link them to test cases that can demonstrate software functionality.
Utilize automated CI/CD build environments, test tools, benches, and vehicles to verify functionality of the feature at the unit, integration, Controller, System and Vehicle level
