Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Software Engineer to develop embedded software for electrified vehicles, focusing on power-electronics control and energy-transfer functions such as onboard charging and bidirectional energy transfer.

You will work across software, controls, systems, and hardware teams to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient software, with MISRA-aligned practices and CAN interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of automotive embedded software development experience or closely related field.
• Experience with C or C++ in production-oriented software.
• Understanding of real-time embedded software design and hardware/software integration.
• Ability to translate requirements into software design and verification.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded C/C++ software for automotive power-electronics and energy-transfer applications.
• Design software for charging, power conversion, and energy-transfer functions.
• Translate system and controls requirements into clear, maintainable software designs.
• Collaborate with architects, hardware, validation and calibration teams to resolve issues.
• Support architecture, interfaces, and traceability from system behavior to implementation and test.
• Participate in design/code reviews and drive CI/CD improvements.
