Job summary

Confident Search Consultants seeks a hands-on Embedded OS Engineer to own the Ubuntu-based Linux firmware stack on a drone platform (Qualcomm QRB5165). You will build the OS, ensure security, and ship via automated CI/CD pipelines.

This role requires navigating low-level OS internals, Yocto BitBake, and headless hardware with limited recovery options, plus optimizing build performance and image deployment across Jenkins and GitLab workflows.

Qualifications

• Hands-on embedded OS engineer for firmware on headless drone hardware.
• Experience with Yocto BitBake and embedded Linux build system internals.
• Comfort with low-level OS internals, boots, and recovery.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain Yocto-based firmware builds and image recipes.
• Write patches against upstream BSPs without modifying source directly.
• Debug BitBake tasks and optimize build times across agents.
