Job summary

RTX Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids is seeking a motivated Computer or Electrical Engineering student to join our ART Microelectronics Technology team. Your work will contribute to cutting-edge defense solutions across Mission Systems, designing and integrating embedded software on high-performance processors.

You will learn to build and maintain a Linux-based software stack, work with hardware bring-up, and collaborate with experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related STEM major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
• Experience as a command line user of Linux
• Experience with embedded C/C++
• Experience with scripting languages (Bash and Python)

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain the customized Linux OS ecosystem (kernel, BSP, drivers, toolchain)
• Contribute to embedded Linux software design, coding, testing and delivery
• Participate in root-cause analysis and resolution of hardware-software issues
• Prepare software builds for simulation, reference platforms and target hardware
