Job summary

RTX is seeking a highly motivated Electrical/Computer Engineering candidate to join Collins Aerospace’s ART organization in Cedar Rapids. You will develop and optimize BSP solutions and embedded Linux software for mission systems, working with hardware, software, and FPGA teams.

You will work on bootloaders, kernel tailoring, device drivers, and build toolchains while collaborating across disciplines to advance aerospace technologies.

Qualifications

• STEM degree required with less than 2 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship required for security clearance eligibility.
• Experience as a command line user of Linux.
• Experience with embedded C/C++.
• Experience with scripting languages (Bash and Python).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance our customized Linux OS ecosystem including build toolchain, kernel, root filesystem, bootloader, drivers and board support package for various hardware boards.
• Contribute to design, coding, testing, delivery and ongoing support for embedded Linux software systems.
• Participate in root cause analysis and resolution of complex hardware-software issues.
• Prepare software builds for execution in simulation environments, reference platforms and on target hardware using Collins processes and tools.
• Learn and apply Collins engineering processes for implementing world-class embedded solutions.
