Job summary

Actalent is seeking an experienced Hardware Electronics Design Engineer (PCB) to lead architecture, design, and prototyping of embedded electronics from concept to production-ready hardware. This on-site role focuses on PCB/FPC design, sensor systems, power electronics, and tight integration with firmware.

You will own designs end-to-end, collaborate with mechanical teams, and work with EMS partners to enable manufacturing and ramp-up. Redmond, WA-based, on-site five days a week.

Qualifications

• End-to-end board design ownership from concept to production.
• Hands-on electronics design across analog, digital, mixed-signal.
• Proficiency with ECAD and SPICE-based simulations.
• Experience evaluating components for performance and cost.

Responsibilities

• Define system architecture and detailed subsystem specs for embedded electronics.
• Evaluate technologies and components to improve performance, reliability, and cost.
• Design sensor interfaces, analog front-end, and data acquisition for mixed-signal apps.
• Design and optimize multi-layer PCB and FPC layouts for high-speed circuits.
• Develop power management and battery systems to meet performance and safety requirements.
• Create schematics and ECAD designs using Altium or Cadence.
• Develop embedded firmware in C/C++ to support hardware bring-up and integration.
• Implement control algorithms, including PID and other closed-loop controls.
• Integrate communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, USB, and BLE.
• Collaborate with EMS partners on manufacturing, test, and DFM optimization.
• Perform board bring-up, debugging, and hardware validation.
