Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking a Software Engineer 1 to design, implement, and verify embedded software in C++ for the cockpit graphics server. You will participate in requirements capture, design reviews, and certification activities to achieve DO-178 DAL A fidelity.

You will work with desktop and target hardware in an office environment to deliver a high‑quality product on schedule. A STEM degree and U.S. citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in STEM required.
• US citizenship required.
• Willing to work 40 hours per week.
• Embedded software experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to Software Requirements, Design, Code, and Verification of the cockpit display system’s graphics server.
• Understand Collins Aerospace processes for software development and verification.
• Work with desktop PC and target hardware in an engineering lab to deliver a high‑quality software product on schedule and budget.
• Follow DO-178 DAL A guidelines and DO-178C standards.
