Job summary

The National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) in Charlottesville, VA is seeking an experienced Embedded Software FPGA design engineer. You will work on digital correlators, perform Linux software design, and contribute to mission-driven, collaborative projects in a research setting.

Earn 5+ years of FPGA-based embedded software experience with Zynq MPSoC, Yocto/PetaLinux, and Vitis tool flow while joining a team that advances radio astronomy instrumentation and telescopes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of embedded software programming within processor-based FPGA devices.
• Experience with Embedded Linux OS (PetaLinux/Yocto) and Application Code.
• Experience with AMD Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC Processing System (PS) architecture.
• Proficient in Embedded Linux OS (PetaLinux/Yocto).

Responsibilities

• Perform embedded Linux software design, implementation, simulation, and verification.
• Research and solve complex technical issues with minimal supervision.
• Exhibit excellent time management and multi-tasking.
• Develop embedded application code using the AMD/Xilinx Vitis tool flow and Python.
• Collaborate effectively in a team environment.
