Job summary

Leonardo DRS is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, analyze, document, and support testing of complex embedded applications such as RF front-end devices. You will work in a Linux environment, developing both kernel space and user space components and interfacing with FPGAs and devices.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering with at least 5 years of experience, strong C/C++ and Python skills on Linux, and the ability to lead a technical group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Strong background in software development using C/C++ and Python on Linux.
• Hands-on embedded device development including ARM-based systems interfacing with FPGAs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and debug embedded software in a real-time environment.
• Work in a Linux development environment and customize the Linux OS for the target system.
• Develop drivers and user-space components interfacing with devices and FPGA registers.
• Provide regular progress reports and design inputs including BOE/SOW for proposals.
• Document specifications, interfaces, test plans, and architecture.
• Lead a technical group and mentor engineers to complete activities on time and budget.
