Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Systems Engineer to design, code, integrate, and test embedded software for Athena Control Systems. You will own components, generate lifecycle documentation, and collaborate with a world-class team focused on safety-critical aerospace and defense applications.

Requirements include C/C++, embedded systems, RTOS, Jira or Git; DoD Secret clearance; willingness to travel up to 15%.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• Experience with software development with C/C++, embedded systems and real time operating systems.
• Knowledge of development tools such as Jira and version control systems (Git/Subversion).

Responsibilities

• Design, code, integrate, and test embedded software systems
• Generate and maintain software documentation for lifecycle artifacts
• Develop knowledge with a primary emphasis on taking technical ownership of one or more components
• Clearly summarize technical software issues to project leadership
• Work with moderate oversight from leadership
• Maintain and perform system level tests and report results
• Verify system functionality and performance per customer requirements
• Support root cause analysis for reported anomalies
• Contribute to technical discussions with customers and teammates
• Travel up to 15%
