Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Principal Embedded System Security Engineer to support DoD and international programs from Marlborough, MA. You will lead RMF/ATO efforts, decompose requirements, and collaborate across engineering teams to secure complex embedded systems.

You will report to the Senior Manager of Cybersecurity Engineering, working onsite and ensuring certification readiness for critical defense programs. A SECRET clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and typically 8+ years of experience.
• U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.
• Active and transferable SECRET U.S. government clearance prior to start date.
• Experience in embedded, aerospace, defense, or mission-critical security engineering.
• Experience leading or coordinating security verification and validation activities.
• Experience applying RMF processes to system certification, authorization, or security assessment.
• Experience developing and reviewing security documentation and verification artifacts.
• Experience decomposing and allocating cybersecurity requirements across architectures and components.
• Experience coordinating cybersecurity across systems engineering, software, hardware and test teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead RMF Authorization to Operate (ATO) planning, development, and evidence review.
• Lead cybersecurity requirement decomposition across architectures, interfaces, and components.
• Analyze system requirements/models to identify security vulnerabilities and mitigations.
• Lead security engineering participation in system design reviews and risk documentation.
• Integrate security requirements across disciplines and track remediation actions.
• Lead security-focused SV&V activities with test strategies and results analysis.
• Coordinate cybersecurity engineering across multiple engineering disciplines to resolve security issues.
• Evaluate threats and guidance to determine impacts on architectures and certification.
• Provide technical direction and review security engineering products and verification results.
