Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an embedded firmware engineer in the United States to design and develop firmware for measurement and analytical instrumentation. You will prepare detailed assignment plans spanning several weeks to months and lead debugging with unit tests, emulators, IDEs, and bench testing.

You will collaborate with internal teams to understand firmware requirements, conduct firmware design reviews, and perform functional integration testing before handing off to test and evaluation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science is required.
• Zero (0) years of experience is required or preferred.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.
• Must not require current or future work sponsorship.
• ABET-Accredited Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
• Preferred knowledge of C/C++, RTOS, microcontrollers and serial protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded firmware for measurement and analytical instrumentation.
• Prepare detailed assignment plans spanning several weeks to months.
• Troubleshoot and debug firmware using unit tests, emulators, simulators, IDEs, and bench testing.
• Provide process improvements and recommendations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand firmware requirements.
• Perform functional integration testing before hand-off to test and evaluation.
• Conduct firmware design reviews on assigned projects.
