Job summary

Nova Measuring Instruments in Fremont, CA is seeking a skilled Firmware Engineer (Embedded) to design, develop, and test firmware for our core hardware platforms. You will collaborate with hardware and systems teams to integrate software with physical components from board bring‑up through production.

Responsibilities include developing firmware for reliable industrial electronics, implementing C code for ARM/STM32, performing HIL testing, and contributing to CI/CD and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3+ years of embedded firmware/software development experience.
• Experience at hardware‑software interface, reading/writing registers, and hardware specs interpretation.
• Strong C/C++ proficiency for embedded systems, with Windows development experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain firmware for industrial electronics and metrology platforms.
• Design and implement efficient C code for ARM cores and STM32 MCUs.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to bring up boards and modify device drivers.
• Analyze and optimize system performance and memory usage.
• Perform hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing, unit testing, and debugging with scopes and analyzers.
• Follow CI/CD pipelines, maintain version control, and write technical docs.
