Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an embedded firmware engineer in the United States to design and develop firmware for measurement and analytical instrumentation. You will prepare detailed assignment plans spanning several weeks to months and lead debugging with unit tests, emulators, IDEs, and bench testing.

You will collaborate with internal teams to understand firmware requirements, conduct firmware design reviews, and perform functional integration testing before handing off to test and evaluation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science is required.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science
Zero (0) years of applicable experience
Legal authorization to work in the United States
Must not require current or future work authorization sponsorship
Preferred: ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
Preferred experience with C/C++, Object-Oriented Design, Python, UML, real-time operating systems, microcontrollers, and serial communication protocols such as SPI, SCI, IIC, and CAN
Preferred knowledge of embedded firmware development for products based on 8/16/32-bit microcontrollers
Preferred knowledge of low-level device driver development, including Timer, UART, and ADC, for microcontrollers
Preferred knowledge of real-time operating systems such as Threadx, MQX, and µCO
Preferred experience with embedded firmware debugging and emulators/debuggers
