Job summary

Nexus One seeks a Senior Principal Solution Architect to lead architectural farming and engagement at a major US bank. You will own deployment patterns, drive integration design across the data stack, and shape expansion opportunities with senior stakeholders.

On-site work in Charlotte, NC and NYC will be 80%+ of the time. The role emphasizes deep technical credibility, vendor governance, and the ability to steer complex IT programs in highly regulated environments.

Qualifications

• 12–18 years in enterprise data/cloud architecture roles such as SA or principal engineer.
• At least one multi-year embedded engagement at a Tier 1 bank or equivalent regulated enterprise.
• Hands-on depth with modern OSS data stack (Spark, Trino, Airflow, Iceberg, Kubernetes, S3, Kafka).
• Experience producing and defending design documents in front of hostile architecture review boards.
• Proven ability to identify expansion opportunities and partner with sales to grow the account.

Responsibilities

• Hold design authority over deployment patterns at the customer and participate in architecture review boards.
• Design and defend integration architecture across the customer data stack (identity federation, CDC, governance metadata).
• Identify and qualify next workloads with strong technical depth before handing to AE.
• Produce high-quality design documents that withstand hostile reviews.
• Serve as the technical escalation point for deployment issues at the customer.
