Job summary

RTX’s Collins Aerospace unit in Rockford, IL is seeking an embedded controls engineer co‑op student within the Electric Power Embedded Controls department. The role involves applying fundamentals to hardware, supporting the control lifecycle from requirements to deployment, and documenting artefacts for hardware validation.

You will engage in reviews and discussions to size up upcoming graduates for potential hire, in a hands‑on, team‑oriented setting.

Qualifications

Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co‑op session.
Experience with electronics and electrical components.
Experience working in a lab and use of electronic test equipment.
Experience with Excel and circuit simulation software.

Responsibilities

Apply fundamental knowledge to embedded controls engineering tasks identified by a hardware lead engineer.
Publish project documents involved in specification, design, testing, deployment of hardware.
Participate in project discussions, walk-throughs, reviews and inspections.
Assist engineers with project administration and technical analysis tasks.
